Washington Football Team Reveals ‘Commanders’ As New Name, Unveils New Logo & Uniforms

The wait is finally over.

Almost two years after dropping ‘Redskins’ from Washington’s NFL franchise’s name, the Commanders have arrived.

The team announced their new name via social media Wednesday morning, along with a new set of logos and new uniforms.

Washington first dropped the famed Redskins name due to mounting public and private pressure, from fans to sponsors, the controversial name was dropped and a temporary name of ‘Washington Football team’ was put into place. That name got an extension through the 2022 season until the team announced late in the year that they have completed a rebrand of the team.
