Miami Dolphins Hire Mike McDaniel As Next Head Coach

Flores out, McDaniel in.

The Miami Dolphins shockingly fired Brian Flores last month despite a second-straight winning season.

Though rumors of Jim Harbaugh and Kellen Moore swirled, Miami has hired Mike McDaniel as their next signal caller.

McDaniel, 38, served as the Offensive Coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers and previously served as an assistant coach for the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins, Houston Texans and Denver Broncos after playing college ball at Yale as a WR.

The new Dolphins coach is regarded as one of the brightest young minds in the league, and that was on display when he was coaching Rams and Packers head coaches Sean McVay and Matt LaFleur up during a QB camp.

The contract is for four years.
