Rams Safety Eric Weddle Refused To Leave Super Bowl After Tearing Pectoral Muscle

Eric Weddle might have the most underrated story of Super Bowl Sunday.

After sitting on his couch happily retired a few month ago to being the signal caller of the Rams defense in Super Bowl LVI, Weddle’s decision to opt out of retirement for one last go at a ‘chip paid off.

Weddle won’t be sailing off into the sunset too easily though, with the 37-year old needing surgery due to a torn pectoral muscle he suffered during the big game.

Weddle noted postgame that he wasn’t going to come out of the game, and joking added that he’ll have plenty of time to recover with no season on the horizon.
