NFL owners may have finally reached their breaking point with Daniel Snyder. less than a week after more allegations were made against the Washington Commanders owner, other NFL owners sense that the time has come for Snyder to be removed as the team owner, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.
“I’m told for the first time ever, there is a sense among ownership, that the time may have come for Dan Snyder to move on,” Florio said.
This news comes months after the NFL launched an investigation that explored the allegations of widespread sexual harassment within the Commander’s organization. At the end of that investigation, the league fined the organization $10 million.
Snyder is involved in yet another investigation after six more Washington employees made new allegations against him. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi confirmed that this new investigation was launched because the NFL hasn’t been transparent enough about this situation.
“We launched this investigation because the NFL has not been transparent about the workplace misconduct issues it uncovered within [Washington],” Krishnamoorthi said via CBS Sports. “These victims are bravely coming forward with their stories, sharing details of despicable abuse in their workplace. Our investigation will continue until the perpetrators of sexual harassment are held accountable.”
The 57-year-old Snyder has owned the franchise since May of 1999. During that time, Washington is 156-212-1 during Snyder’s ownership.
Even worse than that is the team winning just two playoff games and has made the playoffs six times over that span.
