Dallas Mayor Proposes Bringing A Second NFL Team To The City Of Dallas

The Dallas Cowboys wouldn’t be the only National Football League franchise in Dallas if the city’s mayor Eric Johnson had his way.

Earlier this week, Johnson voiced his desire for a second NFL team to come to Dallas.

“We need an AFC team that plays in Southern Dallas,” he tweeted. “It would never want for a fan base or attendance or support from the City of Dallas. Who wouldn’t want to see a Dallas versus Dallas Super Bowl… in the City of Dallas?”

He even suggested the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Los Angeles Chargers make a move to the Lone Star State. Those leary of his expansion idea stated Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would oppose any potential plan. However, that didn’t stop Johnson from trying to persuade others on the benefits of two NFL teams in the Triple D.

For now, it’s unclear what Jones thinks of adding another franchise team to the city. Still, Johnson seems to believe that anything is possible as long as one believes.
