One of the biggest WNBA stars may be spending the next 9 years of her life in a Russian jail cell.
Brittney Griner was detained by customs agents at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport on February 17 of this year when an X-Ray scan of her luggage showed vapes containing hashish oil.
Griner was held in a Russian jail cell, with her detainment going public in the American media, many feeling as if the WNBA star was taken as a political prisoner amid the Russia/Ukraine crisis.
Griner has her sentencing date on Thursday, with a court handing down a 9-year sentence.
