The Cleveland Browns seem to have a contingency plan in place if the NFL increases Deshaun Watson’s suspension.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns will consider trading for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo if Deshaun Watson’s suspension is extended past six games:
Last week the NFL appealed Judge Sue L. Robinson’s six-game suspension of Watson, indicating that it will increase it. Commissioner Goodell said in recent days that Watson’s behavior was “predatory,” when discussing with the media why the league continues to push for a longer suspension.
For now — the Browns await the decision on Watson, who is expected to start in the team’s preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Friday.
