DJ Moore is one of the league’s most electric receivers, and somehow the Atlanta Falcons thought it would be a good idea to let him get behind them on the Panthers hail mary attempt Sunday in Atlanta.
With 23 seconds to go, the Panthers threw a desperation heave to the end zone by PJ Walker to a leaking Moore, who caught the pass and then proceeded to strip his helmet from his head, forcing referees to throw a penalty for excessive celebration by rule.
The 15-yard penalty was chosen to be assessed to the would-be game-winning extra point which was then missed, sending the game into overtime.
The Panthers went on the lose the game in overtime.
