Jerry Jones loves nothing more than putting stars in a Dallas uniform, and Odell Beckham may just be too shiny for the Cowboys owner to look away from.
Beckham, who has been recovering from an ACL tear he suffered in last season’s Super Bowl vs the Bengals, has been content with holding out for a contender to rejoin a team, even stating that he has no interest in playing in the regular season and hopes to come back for post season football.
The Cowboys have been on Beckham’s list from the beginning, but after a multi-day visit earlier this month didn’t garner a contract for the free agent, there was concern around the league that the health of Beckham’s knee might not have been what teams had hoped for.
Despite the first attempt to sign with Dallas not coming to fruition, it appears as if things have changed as Jones told USA Today’s Jarrett Bell Friday that there’s a “good chance” OBJ signs with them soon, adding in the “Odell’s going to join us”.
The Cowboys went out and signed veteran WR T.Y. Hilton earlier this week, and if they keep the former Colt, will have to figure out how to make room for Odell Beckham on their roster with their WR room already full.
