The San Francisco 49ers quarterback situation has gone from bad to very bad to very very very bad.
After Brock Purdy left the game due to an elbow injury in the first quarter, the 49ers turned to their fourth option (behind Lance, Jimmy G and Purdy) at quarterback — Josh Johnson.
During the third quarter, Johnson was thrown to the ground by Ndamukong Suh and had his head bounce off the turf. The game was stopped and Johnson was immediately taken out of the game leaving the 49ers without a healthy quarterback:
The team has since turned back to Brock Purdy who’s dealing with a nerve issue in his elbow. The team also has Christan McCaffrey as their emergency quarterback.
This is getting ugly.
