Video Released Of Georgia QB Stetson Bennett Trying To Run From Police Before Being Arrested

Stetson Bennett most likely never has to buy a meal ever again in Athens, Georgia, but the same rules don’t apply in Dallas apparently.

The two-time National Champion QB, who won his second earlier this month in a trouncing of a National Title game against TCU, was arrested for public intoxication Sunday morning by Dallas Police.

At 6 a.m. Sunday, police responded to complaints of a man roaming around banging on doors, which was discovered to be Bennett. After police arrived on scene, Bennett attempted to flee from officers before a few second later, being tackled – something TCU’s defense couldn’t manage to do.

The 25-year-old was arrested and taken to a city detention center. He was released from custody shortly before 11 a.m., WFAA confirmed.

Bennett is projected to be a high pick in this year’s NFL draft, and it will be interesting to see if the arrest will affect his draft position.
