Brock Purdy Suffered Torn UCL In NFC Championship, Will Be Out For Six Months

The 49ers came into the NFC Championship game with an odd strategy of trying to block star pass rushers with tight ends, and it cost them.

Early on in the game, Purdy went down after hyperextending his elbow while being hit during a throw by a Hassan Reddick. He was taken out in place of 4th stringer Josh Johnson, but eventually had to return to the game after Johnson was put into concussion protocol.

Purdy was seen telling coach Kyler Shanahan that he couldn’t throw for more than ten yards, in what culminated to a brutal ending to a magnificent 49ers season.

On Monday, Purdy was diagnosed with a torn UCL, and injury that will have him sidelined for nearly all of the offseason.
