BREAKING: 49ers QB Brock Purdy Needs Tommy John Surgery, Will Now Miss All Of Next Season

Tough break for the rookie who blasted himself into stardom in 2022.

Brock Purdy, who was trusted into relief when backup Jimmy Garropolo was injured early in December, never lost a game he started and finished through the end of the Niners incredible run this season, coming to a close when Purdy went down with a torn UCL int eh first quarter of Sunday’s NFC Championship game.

After getting multiple opinions, Purdy has been told he needs Tommy John surgery, which will sideline him for an entire year now, double of what was originally expected with a 6 month prognosis.

#49ers QB Brock Purdy needs Tommy John surgery and is expected to miss about a year, according to notable orthopedic surgeon Dr. Mark Adickens.

A return in 6-9 months is unlikely.
