Netflix Announces New Show Called “Quarterback” Which Follows Patrick Mahomes And Two Other QBs During 2022 Season

Oh, this is going to be good.

The National Football League’s NFL Films and Netflix are teaming up for a docuseries called “Quarterback”, which followed three quarterbacks — Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota, throughout the 2022 NFL season.

Omaha Productions, the company owned by Peyton Manning, and Mahomes’ newly formed 2PM Productions will produce the series with NFLFilms.

The three quarterbacks featured in the series had very different experiences in 2022. Mahomes won his second regular-season MVP and led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl LVII win. Cousins was the QB of the Vikings, who won the NFC North division but suffered a devastating playoff loss to the Giants. Mariota started 13 games for the Falcons, went 5-8 and was eventually benched and placed on injured reserve with a knee problem late in the season.

The show will be the first collaboration between the NFL and Netflix and adds to the list of sports documentaries that included Formula 1: ‘Drive to Survive’, Break Point, which follows Tennis players and PGA Tour’s ‘Full Swing’ along with the upcoming shows about the 2022 World Cup and the Six Nations rugby tournament.
