BREAKING: Lamar Jackson And Ravens Are Nearing An Agreement On ‘Mega’ Contract Extension

After all the drama and all the speculation surrounding Lamar Jackson leaving the Baltimore Ravens, it seems like both sides could be nearing an end to a multi-year contract negation.

According to multiple reports from various reporters who cover the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens are nearing a contract extension with Lamar Jackson that will keep Jackson in Baltimore for the foreseeable future.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network mentions the deal that Jalen Hurts got as a moment where Baltimore stepped up and upped their offer to Jackson:

It’s been a long process for Jackson and the Ravens that began one year ago when both sides were reportedly way off on negotiations. Both sides agreed to cut off negotiations once the 2022-23 season began. After the season, it was reported that the relationship between the two sides had soured and there was a chance the Ravens could trade the former NFL MVP quarterback.

The team ultimately decided to place the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, allowing him to negotiate with other teams. The interest was marginal at best and after Jackson publicly requested a trade from Baltimore, ti seemed like his time in Baltimore was over.

But things change and money talks, after the team went out and signed Odell Beckham Jr. to entice Jackson, this ultimately led both sides to continue negotiation and has led us to this.. both sides being on the cusp of a huge contract extension that will keep Jackson in Baltimore.
