Arizona Cardinals Release Star WR DeAndre Hopkins

In a shocking move Friday, the Arizona Cardinals have released WR DeAndre Hopkins.

The departure of Hopkins comes as no surprise as talks of the team trying to move the star wideout have been ongoing for months, but after being unable to find a willing trade partner (likely due to teams knowing both wanted to part ways), the Cardinals now lose one of the best WRs in the NFL for nothing.

Hopkins was originally brought to Arizona after a standout tenure in Houston before being traded for running back David Johnson, a second-round pick and a swap of fourth-rounders.

In three seasons in the desert, Hopkins 221 receptions for 2,696 yards and 17 TDs, notably being suspended for 6 games for PEDs last season.
