Houston Texans Have Named C.J. Stroud As Their Starting Quarterback

The No. 2 overall pick int eh 2023 NFL Draft has been named QB1 in Houston.

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans announced that rookie C.J. Stroud will be the team’s starting quarterback to open up the 2023 season following Houston’s preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Texans’ HC DeMeco Ryans said No. 2 overall pick C.J. Stroud officially will be Houston’s opening-day starting QB vs. the Baltimore Ravens.

This means all three quarterbacks – Bryce Young (CAR) and Anthony Richardson (IND) – drafted in the Top 5 of the 2023 NFL Draft will be starting for their team’s in Week 1.
