
The Kansas City Chiefs have added two years to Patrick Mahomes contract that will tie him tot he Kansas City Chiefs through 2033, bringing to the total value of his contract to $504.75 million, which will make him the first NFL player to have a deal that is over half-billion dollars, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Equity Sports CEO Chris Cabott and Chiefs general manager Brett Veach worked together to finish the deal.
The new money that the Chiefs are adding to Mahomes’ deal is worth $239.05 million, bringing the total value to $504.75 million from 2026 through 2033, with the first four years being guaranteed at signing.
Mahomes can make up to $522.25 million through incentives and escalators. Beginning in 2027, when the new money kicks min, the deal will average $64 million per year, which will set an NFL record for average annual value.
The Chiefs, in total, have committed $689.05 million in new money to Mahomes from 2022 to 2033, as they look to continue building on the dynasty they’ve built in Kansas City led by their star quarterback.
After tearing his ACL in December of last season, the Kansas City Chiefs remain hopeful that Mahomes will be ready for the start of the 2026 season when they open the season on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos.
