The Denver Broncos brought in Sean Payton to help rejuvenate star quarterback, Russell Wilson, and one of the first things Payton did was sit down and have a heart-to-heart conversation with Wilson.
In a recent feature done by ESPN’s Seth Wickersham, Payton said he told Wilson to “focus less on Russell Inc.”
“Will you f–king stop kissing all the babies?” he told Wilson at one point. “You’re not running for public office.”
Over the years, Wilson has been very wary of his image, and Payton knows that it has played a huge role in how Wilson handled the trade to Denver.
It’s a very important year for Russell Wilson; He has to prove that what happened in 2022 was a mirage and that he can regain that fire that he had in Seattle. If not, the trade from Seattle to Denver will go down as one of the worst trades in NFL history.
