I don’t know what the hell the Green Bay Packers were planning to accomplish on this play but it clearly didn’t work.
Packers thought they had the perfect trick play called up to pick up a first down on 4th-and-2 on their opening drive against the New Orleans Saints.
What went wrong? The poss back to Jordan Love was too low, then Love slips on the Lambeau Field grass while trying to recover the ball, and ended up missing a wide-open receiver four what would’ve been a huge gain.
Here’s the play:

Making matters worse for the Packers? The Saints took advantage of the short field and scored the game’s first touchdown, with Derek Carr hitting Jimmy Graham in the end zone for six.
