REPORT: Bears Told WR Chase Claypool Not To Attend Game vs Broncos And Are Working To Trade Him

Chase Claypool’s time with the Chicago Bears is over.

Not only did the Bears make Claypool inactive for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, but they told the wide receiver to stay home.

The Chicago Bears acquired Claypool from the Pittsburgh Steelers for the No. 32 pick in the 2022 Draft. The trade has been a complete disaster for Chicago. The 25-year-old is in the final season of his rookie contract and in 10 games with Chicago, Claypool has caught just 18 passes for 191 yards and one touchdown.

According to Jordan Schultz of The Score, the Bears are working to trade Claypool and are ‘open to taking a 5th or 6th round pick for him.’

The Bears blew a 28-7 lead to the Denver Broncos and fell 31-28. The Bears (0-4) are in the midst of another disaster season but the silver lining is that the Bears currently hold the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks in the 2024 Draft.
