The weekly tradition of the NFL referees calling a phantom roughing the passer penalty continues.
This week, it took place on Sunday Night Football when Giants LB Bobby Okereke hit Josh Allen with a clean hit. There was no contact to the neck area, Okereke didn’t slam Allen to the ground, he didn’t hit him in the helmet and there was no helmet-to-helmet contact.
But the flag was thrown and the Bills were gifted a free 15-yard penalty:
