The Chicago Bears are rumored to be making another trade deadline splash.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, there are “rumors in league circles” that are linking the Chicago Bears to Washington Commanders pass rusher Chase Young.
Earlier in the day, Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reported that the Commanders were ‘anticipating’ to trade either Young or Montez Sweat.
Young, 24, is still a young player and is while teams who make moves at the trade deadline usually are doing to ‘win-now’, this seems like a long-term investment by the Bears, who will likely sign the 24-year-old to a long term deal.
Young was the defensive rookie of the year in 2020. A serious knee injury in 2021 derailed his career. But he’s healthy now and so far in 2023, he’s appeared in six games and has five sacks.
