Giants GM Joe Schoen Is At Washington-USC Game To Watch Caleb Williams & Michael Penix Jr. ‘Closely’

This will surely make headlines in New York.

Giants general manager was in attendance for Saturday’s matchup between No. 5 Washington Huskies and No. 24 USC Trojans, which features two of the top quarterbacks in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft in Michael Penix Jr. (Washington) and Caleb Williams (USC).

The Giants (2-6) are currently slated to have the No. 4 pick in the NFL Draft and could be having some buyers remorse after they signed Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract extension. Jones has missed extensive time with injury and when he was healthy hasn’t looked like the guy the Giants thought he would be when they signed him to that lucrative contract.

In five games this season, Jones has completed 68.9 percent of his passes for 884 yards and two touchdowns against six interceptions, in addition to rushing for 197 yards and one score.

Jones is expected to make his return to the field on Sunday against he Las Vegas Raiders in what seems to be an important 9 games of his career. If the loses continue to pile up and Jones continues to struggle or misses time again, the Giants may have no choice but to draft a quarterback in next April’s Draft.
