The Las Vegas Raiders did some roster shuffling on Wednesday after they claimed former New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones. The corresponding move was to release defensive end Isaac Rochell but unfortunately it was at the worst time ever.
Ahead of the Raiders’ Salute to Service game, the Raiders honored Rochell’s brother, Matt Rochell, who served in the Air Force, on their social media.
Hours later, the team would cut defensive end Isaac Rochell from the team. He even responded to the post about him after he found out he was cut:
The 28-year-old has played eight games with one start this season. He has seen action on 120 defensive snaps and 33 on special teams this season. Rochell has 10 tackles.
He is in his seventh season since the Chargers drafted him in the seventh round. He has seen action for the Chargers, Colts, Browns and Raiders. Rochell has 113 tackles, 9.5 sacks, an interception, and 17 quarterback hits in 78 career games.
