Carolina Panthers tight end Hayden Hurst has been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Amnesia by an independent neurologist stemming from a hit he took during a November 9th game against the Chicago Bears.
The diagnosis was announced by Hurst’s father, Jerry Hurst.
“Slow recovery, don’t know when he’ll be back,” he wrote. “Prayers appreciated!”
Chris Nowinski, a famous neurologist and former WWE wrestler explains what PTA is:
Hurst was placed in the concussion protocol after the Bears game but was practicing with a non-contact red jersey on Wednesday, according to Darin Gantt. He will not play in Sunday’s game against the Saints:
A very scary situation and we are hoping Hurst has a speedy recovery.
