Brian Daboll Had To Cut Off Reporter Comparing Tommy DeVito To Tom Brady Following MNF Win

Tommy DeVito is the talk of NFL after stepping in as the New York Giants starting quarterback. The undrafted rookie has thrown for 855 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions in four games while leading to the Giants to a 3-1 record.

DeVito has been so good that there are some in the New York media that are comparing him to.. Tom Brady. During head coach Brian Daboll’s press conference on Tuesday, a reporter was in the process of asking a question that was comparing DeVito to the greatest of all time, when the Giants head coach had to step in and cut him off.

“We’re four games in,” Daboll said, referring to the number of starts DeVito has. Daboll was with the New England Patriots when Brady replaced an injured Drew Bledsoe in 2001 and led the Pats to a Super Bowl win.

The one conversation DeVito has started is whether there is a QB-controversy brewing between him and Daniel Jones. The Giants have already confirmed that Jones will be back in 2024 but also hinting that they need to bring in more talent to their quarterback room. Could DeVito be competing for the starting job next year against Jones? If he continues playing the way he’s been playing, the Giants might have no choice but to consider DeVito their QB1 in 2024.

For now, DeVito will remain the starter as the Giants head to New Orleans to take on the Saints on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Giants currently sit at 5-8 and are somehow just 1.0 game out of an NFC Wild Card spot.
