REPORT: Chargers And Jim Harbaugh Have “Met More Than Once” And A “Deal” Is Being Worked On

The rumors of Jim Harbaugh leaving Michigan and becoming the next head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers continues to gain steam and the latest report makes it seem like Monday’s National Championship Game will be Harbaugh’s final game at Michigan.

Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, a pairing of Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers has “gained steam in league circles” recently.

According to Josh Palet of Bolt City Podcast, Harbaugh has met with the Chargers “more than once” and the two are at the stage where they are discussing a contract to make Harbaugh the next head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

Harbaugh spent the first 11 years of his head-coaching career in California. His first job was at the University of San Diego before he moved to Stanford, then followed it up with a four-year run in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to ’14.

The Chargers fired Brandon Staley and general manager Tom Telesco on Dec. 15, one day after a 63-21 loss to the Raiders. They are entering Sunday’s season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs with a 5-11 record.

Meanwhile, Harbaugh and the Wolverines are preparing for the National Championship Game on Monday, January 9th.
