REPORT: Officiating Crew From Lions-Cowboys Game Is Assigned To Steelers-Ravens Week 18 Game

After last Saturday’s debacle in Dallas between the Lions and Cowboys that potentially cost the Lions the No. 2 seed and a shot at the No. 1 seed, the NFL is having Brad Allen’s crew officiate Saturday’s Steelers-Ravens game in Baltimore.

While the Baltimore Ravens aren’t playing for anything, the Pittsburgh Steelers are at the center of a huge race for the AFC Wild Card as a Steelers win puts more pressure on the Colts, Texans and Bills.

Brad Allen’s horrible penalty on the Detroit Lions cost them the game against the Cowboys. Schefter previously reported that Allen’s group would be “downgraded” and would be left off the upcoming postseason schedule but it seems like they could still screw up the AFC Playoff race.

Baltimore is locked into the top seed on the AFC playoff bracket no matter what transpires in Week 18. Pittsburgh, on the other hand, needs a victory and some Sunday assistance to stay alive for the seventh and final AFC playoff seed. A Steelers win and a Bills loss is the clearest path for the Steelers to make the playoffs.
