The sports journalism world lost a legend today.
Famed ESPN journalist Chris Mortensen passed away at age 72 Sunday morning.
Mortensen was most know for him contributions to ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, SportsCenter ESPN radio an ESPN’s website for 30 years before a battle with cancer which started after his diagnosis in 2016.
After making a brief return, Mortensen officially retired prior to the 2023 NFL season.
