There seems to be some drama in San Francisco between wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings.
After Aiyuk officially requested a trade from the 49ers on Tuesday, Jennings took to Instagram to post a subliminal message that had many believing it was a direct shot at Aiyuk.
Jennings said via his Instagram story: “You got to be different type of person to act like you’re doing everything by yourself knowing dang well you not.”
Jennings and Aiyuk have been teammates since they entered the league in 2020. Jennings signed a two-year, $15.4 million contract with the 49ers this off-season.
Meanwhile for Aiyuk, he’s been involved in trade rumors all offseason. His name was brought up before the 2024 NFL Draft and some thought he or Deebo Samuel could be traded on Draft night.
After months of no progress in a new contract extension, Aiyuk requested a trade in hopes of getting a new contract or being traded to a new team that would sign him.
Aiyuk is reportedly seeking a contract worth $30 million or more per season. Three wide receivers, Justin Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown and A.J. Brown have received new contracts being paid $30 million per season this offseason.
