The Brandon Aiyuk saga continues to roll on with twists, turns and no end in sight.
As the San Francisco 49ers continue to field trade calls on Aiyuk from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, the latest report reveals where Aiyuk would prefer to play this season.
Per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Aiyuk wants to play for the 49ers after moving his family to the Bay Area during the offseason.
“Brandon Aiyuk wants to be there. He wants to play for San Francisco. He moved his family out there in the offseason. They’ve settled down,” Russini said.
Obviously, Aiyuk’s preference to stay in San Francisco is tied to the fact that they reward him with a long term extension but so far, the team has not been willing to meet his asking price. Ayiuk remains with the team but is holding in at training camp and not participating in any practices.
The 49ers and Steelers are still in constant communication about a deal but nothing has been agreed to.
