BREAKING: Haason Reddick Requests Trade For Jets Amid Contract Dispute, Team Releases Statement

Leave it to the New York Jets to get themselves in a terrible situation like this.

According to multiple reporters, Haason Reddick has informed the New York Jets that he wants to get traded. The team acquired Reddick from the Philadelphia Eagles via a trade this offseason but he’s currently holding out of training camp as he seeks a new contract.

The Jets acquired Reddick knowing that he wouldn’t show up unless he received a contract extension.

General manager Joe Douglas responded with a statement saying the Jets have no plans on trading him:

Reddick has already surpassed $1 million mark in fines for his continued holdout and according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the 29-year-old is seeking a contract that pays him approximately $25 million a year, which is close to what Danielle Hunter received from the Houston Texans.

Reddick is set to make $14.25 million in base salary in 2024.

This situation continues to get uglier by the day.
