J.J. McCarthy’s rookie season has unfortunately ended before it even got started.
The first-year QB out of Michigan was sidelined this week with “knee soreness” that was diagnosed as a meniscus injury, one that would require surgery to repair as well as to investigate if the tendon would simply need a scape with a recovery time of a 4-6 weeks, or a full repair, with a recovery time of 4 months.
Unfortunately for McCarthy and Vikings fans, it was the latter, sidelining the rookie for the entire season.
Sam Darnold will take the reins as the starting QB for Minnesota.
