Despite being in the NFL for 20 years, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still doing things for the first time.
Rodgers and the Jets dismembered the New England Patriots, 24-3, in what was by far Rodgers best game since joining the New York Jets.
Rodgers threw two touchdowns passes, including one to star wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Why is that significant? Well it marked the first time in Rodgers’ NFL career that he threw a touchdown pass to a wide receiver who was drafted in the first round of an NFL Draft.
As wild as that might be to believe, the Packers were notoriously known for never using a first-round pick on a wide receiver during Rodgers’ time in Green Bay.
The majority of Rodgers’ touchdown passes went to Davante Adams, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb – all of whom were drafted in the second round by the Packers.
