BREAKING: Browns Trade Za’Darius Smith To The Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions have added a pass rusher.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Lions have acquired veteran defensive end Za’Darius Smith from the Cleveland Browns.

The Lions also received a 2026 seventh-round pick form the Browns, while sending a 2025 fifth-rounder and a 2026 sixth-rounder in the trade.

The other cost aside from pick swaps: the Lions will take on the remaining $605,000 in Za’Darius Smith’s contract.

The Browns already have paid $11.3 million of Smith’s 2024 compensation.

Smith, 32, has five sacks in nine games this season, his second with the Browns. The three-time Pro Bowler has 65 career sacks over parts of 10 seasons with the Browns, Vikings, Packers and Ravens.
