Derek Carr will miss at least the next several weeks, and his season could be over after Sunday’s hand injury.
NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Monday that Carr did, in fact, suffer a significant fracture to his left, non-throwing hand, per sources informed of the injury.
Jake Haener took over for Carr on Sunday. When Carr missed three games earlier this season, the Saints started rookie Spencer Rattler, who was benched midway through the Week 8 loss to Los Angeles — those games came before Rizzi replaced Dennis Allen.
Rizzi said that New Orleans has not yet decided on a Week 15 starting QB if and when Carr is ruled out.
