REPORT: Giants Hire Coach Who’s Related To Matthew Stafford Amid His Uncertainty With Rams

The New York Giants have hired a new assistant quarterbacks coach, who is ironically related to a quarterback who may or may not be disgruntled with his current team.

Chad Hall, who is the brother-in-law of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has been added to Brian Daboll’s coaching staff, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Matthew Stafford’s future with the franchise remains a bit of an unknown — even after the 36-year-old communicated to the team that he plans to play next season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Meanwhile, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated hinted that Stafford could become available this offseason.

“No one’s talking about the Matthew Stafford thing. I don’t understand it,” Albert Breer said on the “Dan Patrick Show,” which is airing live from New Orleans ahead of Super Bowl 2025.

“I don’t understand why nobody’s talking about the idea that Stafford could be available, and if you’re another team, you’re probably calling the Rams.”

This could be a big nothing-burger and Stafford ends up staying in Los Angeles with the Rams but as we enter the offseason, this situation is worth monitoring, especially now that the Giants (ironically) hired Stafford’s brother-in-law.
