BREAKING: DK Metcalf Has Requested A Trade From Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver DK Metcalf has requested a trade, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The trade request comes after a series of conversations between Metcalf and the Seahawks over the past two weeks.

After consecutive seasons with 1,000-plus yards including his 2023 Pro Bowl campaign (66 catches, 1,114 yards, eight touchdowns), Metcalf tallied 66 catches for 992 yards and five touchdowns in 2024.

Smith-Njigba, a first-round pick in 2023, led Seattle last season with 100 catches for 1,130 yards and six touchdowns. He was the target of 137 passes, compared to 108 for Metcalf.

If the Seahawks end up trading Metcalf without a corresponding acquisition, they’ll suddenly be thin a position that was previously a strength. Just before news of Metcalf’s trade request broke, Seattle released Lockett, who’s played his entire 10-season career in Seattle.
