Bills Signed Two Players That Tested Positive For PED And Will Be Suspended For Six Games

The Buffalo Bills have been one of the most aggressive teams in free agency, adding multiple veterans to their roster while also locking up Josh Allen, Greg Rousseau, Terrel Bernard and Khalil Shakir..

But unfortunately, two of the free agents that the Bills signed won’t be available to start the 2025 season. On Friday afternoon, Bills general manager Brandon Beane announced that two of his free agent signings, Larry Ogunjobi and Michael Hoecht, have been suspended for violating the league’s PED policy.

The Bills made Hoecht a priority this offseason, signing him to a three-year deal worth up to $24 million. Ogunjobi, meanwhile, received a one-year, $8.3 million contract from Buffalo.

Beane knew about Hoecht’s situation before the Bills agreed to a three-year contract. On the flip side, he had no idea that Ogunjobi was also facing a six-game suspension.

Ogunjobi has been in the AFC North for his entire career, spending time with the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns. He has recorded 361 tackles and 27.5 sacks since 2017.

Hoecht showed a lot of promise with the Los Angeles Rams, racking up 180 tackles, 26 QB hits, 13.5 sacks and two forced fumbles from 2021-2024.

Depending on when their bye week comes this fall, the Bills may have to wait until late October to get Hoecht and Ogunjobi back in the rotation.
