For a man who heads the Republican party, a party who prides themself on reducing government overreach, especially when it comes to free speech and private business, this is quite the statement.
Seemingly out of nowhere Sunday morning, Donald Trump posted to his Truth Social platform that the Commanders and Guardians should immediately change their names back to Redskins and Indians respectively.

After causing quite the stir in the media, the President then posted that would work to hold up the deal that Commanders team Josh Harris and the rest of the ownership group have to bring the stadium to Washington D.C. if they don’t change the name of the franchise back to the Redskins, citing the ‘Commanders’ name being a “ridiculous moniker”.

Harris has publicly stated he would not change the name back, meaning if Trump does intervene, the team could be headed to Virginia rather than the proposed RFK location in D.C.
