Houston Texans safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson tore his ACL and will be out for the 2025 season, according to Aaron Wilson.
Gardner-Johnson joined the Texans this offseason after being acquired in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for G Kenyon Green.
The 27-year-old was expected to have a huge role on DeMeco Ryans defense both as a vocal leader in the locker room and a hard hitting safety on the field.
Gardner-Johnson was coming off a great 2024 season with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, appearing in 16 games and recording 59 tackles and six interceptions (including one pick-6).
