The Minnesota Vikings are making some changes to their quarterback room.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Vikings are trading backup Sam Howell to the Philadelphia Eagles and are signing Carson Wentz to be J.J. McCarthy’s backup quarterback.
In exchange for Howell, the Vikings are receiving a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick from the Eagles while also sending a 2026 six-th round pick to the Eagles with Howell.
The Vikings might not be done making trades as they are in the market for wide receiver depth behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, who will be suspended for the first three weeks of the NFL season. The team has inquired about a potential reunion with Adam Thielen.
