Carson Wentz’s 2025 season is over regardless what happens with the Minnesota Vikings quarterback situation.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Wentz will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a left shoulder injury he suffered on October 5th while playing in place of J.J. McCarthy. Wentz has been playing through a dislocated shoulder that included a torn labrum and fractured socket, Pelissero reported.
Luckily for the Vikings, McCarthy is expected to return as the Viks starter on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. With Wentz headed to season-ending injured reserve, undrafted rookie Max Brosmer is the only other quarterback on the roster.
