As it turns out, the Panthers-Buccaneers game might not be a winner-take-all game, after all.
The Buccaneers lost to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, and the Carolina Panthers lost to the Seahawks. Next week’s game is likely to be for the NFC South title but there’s one wild scenario where the Panthers can still make the playoffs even if they lose that game.
If the Atlanta Falcons win their last two games (Rams and Saints) and if the Buccaneers beat the Panthers, there would be a three-way tie for the division. In that scenario, the Panthers would win the NFC South by virtue of the best record in the three-way round robin.
So the Panthers can lose to the Buccaneers and still be celebrating a division title, if the Falcons can win out.
The Bucs will be huge Los Angeles Rams fans on Monday Night Football.
