Nick Herbig might have just had the shortest holdout in NFL history.
After sitting out of individual drills during the Steelers mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, linebacker Nick Herbig agreed to a huge four-year, $100 million extension that includes $42 million guaranteed, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports.
In an interview with local reporters before agreeing to the deal, Herbig said it was his “desire to be a Steeler for life.”
The 24-year-old was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract and was coming off a breakout season where he had a career-high 7.5 sacks in 2025.
Herbig is a big part of the expensive Steelers’ pass rush that. His new deal averages $25 million per year, while T.J. Watt averages $41 million and Alex Highsmith comes in at $17 million per year.
