John Elway is one of a rare breed of top tier players who are able to make the transition to a top tier general manager or owner. Not only is he top tier, he may be the best in football right now.
After years of drafting and trading to bolster a defense and transform it into one of the best in history, Elway traded for the legend Peyton Manning and won a Super Bowl from it. After Manning retired though, Elway fell under heavy criticism for negating the QB situation, letting would-be predecessor Brock Osweiler walk, signing Mark Sanchez, and eventually electing Trevor Siemian as the Broncos starter.
Elway drafted Simeon two years ago out of Northwestern and the once no-name QB has led the defending champs to a 3-0 start.
After the Elway announced Siemian’s draft pick some 511 days ago on Twitter, a fan questioned the decision. Fast forward to today…the GM fired back a tweet back at the unassuming fan after a 29-17 win against the Bengals by reupping the old tweet.
This troll job by @johnelway is pretty exceptional. pic.twitter.com/lJ5HM5Gh0Z

What a troll legend.
Edit: Elway has since deleted the tweet.
