Shaquem Griffin’s story is reaching another level of inspiring.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll told reporters on Wednesday that Griffin, a rookie linebacker, will start Sunday’s opener against the Broncos in Denver in place of KJ Wright, who’s recovering from knee surgery.

Griffin was a standout defensive player at UCF as apart of a Knights team that went undefeated in 2017. Griffin is known for achieving immense success despite having only one hand, Griffin has served as an inspiration for countless people. His story only grew with the Seahawks drafted him with the 141st pick in the 2018 Draft.
Griffin’s twin brother, CB Shaquill Griffin, is also a member of the Seahawks. Both will start for the Seahawks on Sunday in Denver.
