It was reported Thursday that Knicks star Kristaps Porzingus was unhappy in New York. Just hours later and the 7-footer in on his way to Dallas, who the Knicks played just last night.
The Knicks have agreed in principle to trade the team’s 2015 4th overall pick in Porzingus, Courtney Lee, Tim Hardaway Jr to the Mavericks in return for Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith Jr. and DeAndre Jordan.
New York has agreed with Dallas on trade that includes Kristaps Porzingis, Courtney Lee, Tim Hardaway Jr., for Wesley Matthews, Dennis Smith Jr. and DeAndre Jordan, league sources tell ESPN. Players and agents are being notified of particulars. Deal may include more draft assets.

The trade opens up huge amounts of cap space for the Knicks who are currently 10-40 at the bottom of the East.
It’s likely they’ll have the capacity to land two star free agents along with their top draft pick this summer.
