On the first day of training camp, the New York Jets announced that they were releasing 2020 second-round pick wide receiver Denzel Mims if they were unable to a trade partner.
As it turns out, they actually did find a trade partner.
According to Connor Hughes of SNY.com, the Jets have traded Mims to the Detroit Lions:
The move comes to no surprise as Mims requested a trade nearly a year ago. Mims failed to establish a consistent role and had just 42 catches for 676 yards while failing to score a touchdown in three seasons.

Meanwhile for the Detroit Lions, Mims provides insurance for a team that is dealing with suspensions to WRs Jameson Williams and Quintez Cephus.
